We congratulate Professor Manish Chhowalla on being awarded two prizes recently.  Manish is the recipient of one of the IOM3's Premier Awards - the Griffith Medal & Prize.  This was awarded to acknowledge his major contributions to understanding of 2D materials and devices. In particular, he has advanced our understanding of the electronic and electrochemical properties of atomically thin two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) and our utilization of phases with disparate properties for catalysis and energy storage.  Manish also received the the Charles Hatchett Award, along with his co-authors, for the best paper on the science and technology of niobium-based materials - in this case, the paper was based on their work on niobium disulfide catalysts.
